This will be a film for literary lovers. The main protagonist, Max Perkins, will be played by Oscar winner Colin Firth. Perkins was the editor famed for working with Ernest Hemingway, F. Scott Fitzgerald and Thomas Wolfe.
The film will depict a man who "served these authors not only as editor extraordinaire but also as critic, psychoanalyst, father-confessor, and devoted friend."
Genius explores the relationship between Perkins and Thomas Wolfe, played by Michael Fassbender. It will be a directional debut for Michael Grandage. Hugo writer, John Logane has adapted A.Scott Berg's biography "Max Perkins: Editor of Genius," for the film.
