Deadline has reported that Jennifer Lawrence is in talks to star in the film adaptation of Hannah Kentís Burial Rites.

Set to the bitter backdrop of the Icelandic climate Lawrence will play murderer Agnes Magnusdottir, a woman waiting out her time before her execution in 1829.

The book was first released in Australia and has just been released in the US and UK to wide acclaim. It has been longlisted for the Guardianís First Book award.

Burial Rites will reunite Gary Ross, director of The Hunger Games, with Lawrence.

Do you think Lawrence will do Agnes justice?
