The Favourite Sister by Jessica Knoll

On August 31, 2018

From the author of the bestselling debut Luckiest Girl Alive comes Jessica Knoll's new thriller, featuring two competitive sisters whose secrets and lies result in murder.

Brett and Kelly Courtney are the stars in a New York-based reality TV show called Goal Diggers. One of the most popular shows on American national television, its competitive cast of five self-made women are defined by their success, beauty and ruthless drive to reach the top.

The Courtney sister are rivals despite the successful business they have built together that helps disadvantaged women in Morocco. Harbouring bitter jealousies and dark secrets about their manufactured screen lives they're joined by three other competitive women who all have their own agendas. The latest season of Goal Diggerspromises to deliver controversy in the quest for even higher ratings.

Scathing social media attacks and finely-tuned scripting draw in the viewing public every week, all orchestrated by the show's producers.

An entertaining and sometimes terrifying look into the world of scripted  reality television.

Bruna Papandrea’s Made Up Stories is developing the book for a TV series. Author Jessica Knoll will adapt and produce the pilot.

Papandrea’s previous successes include eight-Emmy winning HBO series Big Little Lies and such films as Wild and Gone Girl. Papandrea and Knoll are working on the feature adaptation of Luckiest Girl Aliveat Lionsgate.

Papandrea said: “I am thrilled to be re-teaming with Jessica on her razor-sharp and wildly entertaining second novel. I deeply admire her boldness of vision and her eagerness to challenge the status quo of how women are allowed to behave in their own stories. I am so excited to shepherd these wildly complex female characters to the screen.”

Added Knoll, “I strive to create characters as fierce and powerful as Bruna, and it is an honour to work with her again.”

You can buy the book here in Australia and here in the UK.
