On January 15, 2009, the world witnessed the “Miracle on the Hudson” when Captain “Sully” Sullenberger glided his plane onto the waters of the Hudson River after the engines failed, saving the lives of all 155 aboard. It gave Clint Eastwood the subject for his latest film.

As Sully was being heralded by the public and the media for his unprecedented feat of aviation skill, an investigation was unfolding that threatened to destroy his reputation and his career.

Tom Hanks stars as Sully. The cast also includes Aaron Eckhart (Olympus Has Fallen) as Sully’s co-pilot, Jeff Skiles, and Oscar nominee Laura Linney (The Savages) as Sully’s wife, Lorraine Sullenberger.

The film is based on the book Highest Duty by Sullenberger and Jeffrey Zaslow. Buy the book in Australia here and in the UK here.

SULLY will be released in September.

Watch Tom Hanks and Clint Eastwood talk about the untold story of hero Sully Sullenberger.
