Actor and filmmaker Tom Hanks is writing a book. Hanks won our hearts as Forrest Gump, and did it again when he was a guest on Desert Island Discs. See his music collection here.
Hanks collects typewriters and the title of his upcoming book, Uncommon Type: Some Stories, reflects his hobby,
The book will be a collection of seventeen stories, which includes an immigrant man arriving in New York and an eccentric billionaire. Each story features a typewriter.
Hanks said: “In the two years of working on the stories, I made movies in New York, Berlin, Budapest, and Atlanta, and wrote in all of them. I wrote in hotels during press tours. I wrote on vacation. I wrote on planes, at home, and in the office. When I could actually make a schedule, and keep to it, I wrote in the mornings from 9 to 1.”
Uncommon Type: Some Stories will be released in October.
