Culture Street

By Sophia Whitfield

As a child, Sadlerís Wells Theatre was my playground. My sister and I spent evenings and weekends wandering the concrete corridors backstage when our parents had to work. Occasionally, as a reward for good behaviour, we were asked to present flowers, usually annually, to Princess Margaret who was the President of the Sadlerís Wells Foundation. We knew Sadlerís Wells was a unique place and relished the occasional excitement and glamour of the theatre.

Despite the magic and constant allure of the theatre, we both launched into careers in publishing. Today books are as much my passion as the theatre.

I am thrilled to have joined forces with a small team of like minded individuals. We hope that by bringing reviews and profiles of books, theatre and films together in one place we will create a vibrant community of culture lovers.

The team at Culture Street will keep you informed, up to date and amused with all the latest cultural news.

Weíre looking forward to engaging with you as we share thoughts and stories on all the latest in the publishing, theatre and film world.

So do join us as we head down Culture Street on a new adventure together.
